| Voting
Process The
nominees and winners of the TEC Awards
are determined through a two-step process.
Initial selections are made in May and
June by a Nominating Panel comprised of
prominent professionals from all areas
of the audio industry. Nominees are selected
in the Technical and Creative fields, consisting
of 26 sub-categories. Eligible nominees
are those projects or products that, in
the opinion of the Nominating Panel, represent
superior accomplishment in their respective
fields. These products or works must have
been completed, released or performed during
the eligibility period of April 1 through
March 31.
Names and descriptions
of the nominated products and projects
are posted in July on the Mix Foundation
website. Voting for the TEC Awards is carried
out by members of prominent professional
audio and music industry organizations
and websites (including the Audio Engineering
Society, Producers & Engineers
Wing of the Recording Academy and Broadjam.com),
who register online and vote via a secure
online ballot during the month of August.
The winners’ names are kept in confidence
until the TEC Awards ceremony.
The TEC Awards Hall
of Fame inductee is selected by the Nominating
Panel and the editors of Mix. The editors
of Mix and the Board of Directors of the
Mix Foundation choose the recipient of
the Les Paul Award.
