Mix LA Open Is Overwhelming Success

The weather may have been cold, but a sold-out crowd of more than 140 golfers braved the chill at the 13th Annual Mix LA Open in Malibu May 12, to make the event an overwhelming success!! Sponsored by Guitar Center Professional, the audio profession came out in droves with support from sponsors Absolute Music, Acme Audio Labs, C.E. Pickup/IAC, Design FX, Full Sail University, Harman Pro, KRK, Lurssen Mastering, Maple Jam Music Group, Mix magazine, the Producers & Engineers Wing, Record Plant, Sennheiser, Shure, Inc., Sound Design Corporation, TASCAM, The Pass Studios and Yamaha Corporation.
First place went to CCC Information Services (Richard Armijo, Phillip Armijo, Jim Hoover and Bernard Perry), second to TASCAM (Tim Crable, Rob Joly, Jerry Klein and John Reda) and third to Sound Design Corporation (Paul Sandweiss, Ken Dahlinger, Cole Pensanti and Scott Spiegel). Tim Hoggart (Warner Bros) was the winner of the Closest to the Pin Award and the recipient of a Porsche for the weekend, provided by The Auto Gallery. Jim Hoover (CCCC Information Services) won the Longest Drive Contest and Richard Armijo (CCC Information Services) took top honors in the Closest to the Pin contest.
